I'm working hard at the moment on recording my first album. It's a weird, isolated kind of process (I'm not using a producer or any other musicians) - but things are steadily taking shape. I certainly don't have any shortage of material, so one of the problems is judging which songs to put in and leave out.
I will let you know when the results are available!
I'm really looking forward to performing next weekend at Tanworth-in-Arden (Nick's home village) again. We have established a real tradition of celebrating his music one weekend each summer there, and it's a lovely event, surrounded by music lovers. It might be sad if the artists were just ND cover acts, but in fact they make Nick's songs their own, and they also perform their own songs, to keep the music good and alive. Great to see the new Clay Eals biography of Steve Goodman published at last. Clay and I exchanged a lot of emails last year about the couple of times I saw Steve perform here early in his career. The guy was a musical genius, and I have a classic video of him on my Myspace page. Thanks to Clay for the mentions in the book.
